  FAQS

Q. “What do you charge?”
A. My fee is $110/visit. I value my services being affordable and accessible, which is why my rate is lower than many of my colleagues. I also accept insurance and am a provider for many plans. Please go to the website of your insurance company if you’d like to see whether I’m a provider for yours. If I am on your insurance provider panel, I will take care of the billing.

Q. “How long is each session?”
A. Generally they are 45-50 minutes (known as the “fifty minute hour”) unless otherwise arranged. Couples, especially for the initial session, sometimes find that they benefit from a longer visit – 90 minutes or 1 ½ hours. Fees are adjusted accordingly.

Q. "How frequently do we meet?"
A. Over the years I have found that meeting once a week is best: it keeps a forward momentum going. Less than once a week can feel like you are "spinning your wheels" and playing catch-up rather than building upon the material discussed the previous week or in prior sessions. However, "one size does not fit all" and we will arrive at a plan that is tailored to you.

Q. Is your office near the Stoneridge mall?”
A. It is further down on Stoneridge, two  miles from the mall. It is right next to the courthouse in Pleasanton. To get there you can either take the Stoneridge exit off of 680 or the Hacienda exit off of 580. It’s easy. Suite #217 is on the second floor (there is an elevator; it is fully handicap-accessible) of the two-storied building. There is plenty of parking.

Q. “Do you prescribe medication?”
A. No. Only a medical doctor – i.e., an MD – may do so.

Q. “What’s the next step?”
A. Give me a call. I’d be happy to answer any questions and to set up an appointment for our initial meeting. You can then ‘get a feel’ for whether we are a good match. I look forward to meeting you.
